René Zäch

Landis & Gyr Stiftung Residency

René Zäch is a Swiss artist. In both sculpture and drawing, René was represented in important overview exhibitions over the course of 35 years of creative work. While the quality of his drawing was recognized as early as 1978 in a show on Swiss drawing at the Musée Rath in Geneva, René's repeated participation in the Biel sculpture exhibitions, most notably in 2009 in that of Simon Lamunière under the title Utopics, curated the eleventh implementation, his innovative approach to sculpture.

René received wide attention in several solo exhibitions: After the early involvement of the Kunstmuseum Solothurn (1974 and 1983), followed major presentations at the Kunsthalle Bern (1989), the Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts Sion ( 1995), the Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau (1999), the Center PasquART Biel (2001) and the Creek Art Center Shanghai (2006). In 2007, he was awarded the Biel Culture Prize.
